Putting a spin on your life

This morning I was feeling sorry for myself over some recent events. Then I was doing some morning meditation and eft tapping, and I realized we don’t have to play the victim or the martyr. We can look for the positives in our lives. We don’t have to let the negatives rule us.

If we had a bad day at work and our manager was upset with us , rather than internalizing it we can use it as constructive criticism to do better. If we had a relationship issue, we don’t need to let it define us. We can look at all the good that came from that relationship. If our kids are doing some things we don’t agree with we can choose to look at the fact that they need to make mistakes on their own and that we raised them to be independent.

We can take those negatives and flip them. We can take past and current things and choose to use them to the good. Maybe someone grew up with no food to eat as a child so they now as an adult volunteer now at a food bank. Or someone had a person be abusive to them in the past so they now speak and volunteer at a battered shelter.

I don’t know about you but I would much rather get attention for my positive work in this world than for attention playing the victim or being a martyr.

It can be tough to retrain our brains but we can do it. We can flip the script. πŸ’–

U of M Basketball πŸ€πŸ’™πŸ’›

Happy Friday Eve my friends. It’s been a long week. I’m stoked that tomorrow is Friday.

I was reminded on Twitter that U of M basketballπŸ’™πŸ’› πŸ€ plays Rutgers today at noon. (Like we can all watch this game at work or something)? Eyeroll.

I’m very much into U of M football πŸ’™πŸ’› 🏈 but not as much into basketball. In fact, not really much at all. However, my take so far on Michigan’s team this year is :This has to be one of the softest Michigan basketball teams I’ve ever seen. They are not good on the boards, they go through stretches where the offense looks lost and they get out hustled on things where only some effort is needed. Juwan Howard seems to just make extremely bad calls…Okay. End rant. For now.

I’d also like to give a shout out to the ladies as yesterday was International Women’s Day. There are so many of us giving a go of it alone and people have no idea what that takes. So kudos to you ladies out there.

I’m a single mom with a 40 hour a week job and a side hustle. I work hard and it is by no means easy.

Well, back to work. Keep me updated on the game.

Go Blue πŸ’›πŸ’™
